Students will learn how to draft the slopers to a skirt, pant and torso.  They will then learn how to manipulate those slopers to create other fashion styles.  Each student will learn how to design and construct an 8 piece garment line.  After completing the 8 garments, the student will have an opportunity to take all the design and sewing techniques they have learned and apply it to their very own design.  They will also learn the following sewing techniques while sewing up the garments: Machine Straight Stitch; Sewing and Trimming a Curve; Top Stitching; Reinforced Stitch; Stitch and Pinked Seam Finish; Sewing Darts; Sewing a Facing; Whip Stitch; Sewing a Zipper; Pinked and Fused Hem Finish; Pinked and Top Stitched; Self and Applied Casing for Elastic/Drawstring; Zig-Zag Stitch and much more.  It is recommended that students purchase two large 3" binders and sheet protectors to store the instructional handouts and samples.
